Spell rhythms*

* Spell. In Colombia: home, homemade, made with hands, handcrafted.

A tiny rhythm that emerges from movement. A rhythm that is hooked with another, also small and that becomes more complex and makes the movement voluptuous. A rhythm that calls us to sing about the rhythm of life, that tells us something about the rhythm of our bodies. Movement becomes dance. A South American rhythm, a Colombian rhythm that gives us warmth. A rhythm that enchants us, it interconnects us and drags us. That asks us and answers us. The rhythm becomes a song. A rhythm that dresses us in fantastic clothes that draw the trail of the dance, of movement and death rattle. Enchanting clothes that also have their own rhythm. An open rhythm, a malleable song in a circle of dancing and singing. A spell rhythm.

MINOR POETS is a collective based in Madrid made up of the Spanish artist Marta Orozco Villarrubia and the Colombian musician and artist Julián Mayorga. His work spans several disciplines., traveling mainly through music, textile art, the video, 2d animation and poetry. His practice points to the possible insertion of the monstrous and the mythological into the city and the mundane.. Addresses the role of poetics and myth as a popular vehicle to encrypt concerns, discomfort, fears and other feelings; and explores the power of fantastic language as a possible political device.

Minor Poets longs for the irruption of the spectral, the borderline and the mysterious in daily life; the appearance of the absurd and the poetic in the midst of the mundane.
