Musical Story
In 1931, Jean Brunhoff wrote The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant which changed the face of the world of children’s books because it was the first to have
illustrations. It was so successful that he later wrote more entertaining stories about the elephant: Le Voyage de Babar, Le Roi Babar, L’ABC de Babar and more.
For Francis Poulenc, it seemed an opportunity too good to miss and he set the original story to music, adding the colours of the piano to the tale of the little
elephant who flees the jungle and eventually becomes king of the big city. This beautiful production returns to our new Real Teatro following its success in
previous seasons.
