23-24 Season

The 23/24 season features nine new productions by the Teatro Real, and offers popular titles such as Rigoletto by G. Verdi, Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini, Carmen by G. Bizet, Medea by L. Cherubini, The Mastersingers of Nuremberg by R. Wagner and Luisa Fernanda by F. Moreno Torroba. Extraordinary works such as The Human Voice by F. Poulenc and Erwartung by A. Schönberg in a double programme, the operetta Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss, Lear by A. Reimann,  Die Passagierin by M. Weinberg, Halka by S. Moniuszko and Tenorio by T. Marco. The Baroque period will be represented by Orlando by G. F. Händel, Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria by C. Monteverdi and Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell. The dance programme will feature the Ballet du Théâtre de Genève, the Spanish National Ballet and the Munich Opera Ballet with La bayadère.
