11 Nov, 17 - 13 Nov, 17

Musical conductor: Manuel Coves
Stage Director: Franco Dragone
The Ballet Nacional de España returns to the stage of the Teatro Real with Sorolla, a recent addition to its repertory, by its Artistic Director, Antonio Najarro. The work was inspired by Joaquín Sorolla’s series of mural paintings "Visión de España" (Visions of Spain). A commission by the Hispanic Society of America in 1911, he travelled across Spain with a painter’s brush that reflects light, colour and movement.
The ballet includes the most well known of Spanish folkloric dances as well as boleros, flamenco and Spanish classical ballet, in an atmospheric show which brings together the traditional and the contemporary.
