Awards ceremony
After being awarded Best Theatre in the World in the 2021 edition, the Teatro Real will host the 2022 International Opera Awards ceremony. On 28 November at 7.30 pm, the Teatro Real's Main Hall will bring together the best artists in the world of opera in different categories. These Oscars of opera will feature performances by today's greatest stars on a very special night that the public of Madrid will be able to attend.
Founded in 2012, the International Opera Awards are the annual celebration of excellence in the international opera scene. The awards aim to recognise and reward success, create scholarships for emerging talent and raise the profile of opera as an art form in its own right. This year's jury, composed of opera professionals, will be chaired by John Allison, editor of Opera magazine.
